The Baby Turns One

My baby!

 I love birthday parties. Seeing all of our family celebrate the life of this little baby is the kind of thing that makes me feel full. This boy has helped me grow so much over the past year. He entered the world quickly and has been super chill ever since. He is an easy baby and I was able to breastfeed him much longer than my first one. He sleeps well, he eats everything, and he has his daddy's kind eyes. There is so much that he has given me that I can never thank him for. He sneaks in hugs and kisses when no one is looking. He makes us work for a smile.He has taught me that I can sit back and learn just as much from watching than when I dive in head first.



It is hard not to compare the first child to the second. So I look for their differences and try and nurture them in their own ways. Baby Gabe is so physical and watchful. He follows birds in the sky and plays with the wheels on trucks. He is a details kind of kid. The other day he was watching Dustin play a bongo drum. He first instinct was not to bang on it, but to turn it over and see how it works.





I hope and pray everyday to be the best mom for my children.  I am less stressed with two than I was with one. This baby seems better equipped to handle my ups and downs than the first one. Maybe I am more confident than I was the first time around. His first year will be one that I will never forget. He is my little Gabey baby and he turns one today.
